Child Safety
Kikin is a video-chat and community platform for adults only. Protecting children from sexual abuse and exploitation is a core responsibility, and this page explains the rules we enforce, the tools we provide, and how to reach us with a child-safety concern. Our designated point of contact for child-safety matters, including CSAM and CSAE concerns, is hello@kikin.app.
Adults only
Kikin is intended solely for people aged 18 and over. Everyone must confirm a date of birth when they create an account, and the app checks that a person is 18 or over before they can use video matching or join a Squad. Kikin is not a service for children and is not designed to attract them.
Zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation
Kikin has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and for child sexual abuse material (CSAM). This applies to every part of the service, including one-to-one video matches, Squads, communities, games, private messages, profile content and any other user content.
What is strictly prohibited
The following conduct is prohibited at all times and is grounds for immediate enforcement:
- Sexual abuse or exploitation of a minor in any form.
- Grooming, or behaviour intended to build trust with a minor in order to sexualise, harass, manipulate or abuse them.
- Sexualising minors, or any sexual content, request or advances involving a minor.
- Solicitation involving a minor, including requesting or arranging sexual images, videos, meetings or acts.
- Human trafficking or any other exploitation of a person, including a minor.
- Creating, uploading, sharing, storing, requesting or promoting child sexual abuse material.
- Attempting to evade enforcement, including using a new account after a suspension or ban relating to any of the above.
Reporting from inside the app
Anyone can raise a concern about a user or content directly from within Kikin. During a match, open More, choose Report, select a reason and submit; you can also report users and content from profiles and community pages. Reports are recorded as Kikin safety cases and reach our moderation team for review. Blocking is also available at any time to end contact with another account immediately.
How we review and enforce
Reports are reviewed by Kikin's moderation team. Where a violation is confirmed, or where we otherwise become aware of one, we take action proportionate to the harm. This can include removing content, issuing a warning, temporarily suspending an account, or permanently banning an account for serious violations. Accounts suspected of belonging to a person under 18 are removed, and Kikin may request age verification where it has a concern.
Compliance with child-safety laws
Kikin complies with applicable child-safety laws and regulations in the regions where it operates, including requirements relating to child sexual abuse and exploitation. Where Kikin is legally required to do so, or where we consider it appropriate to protect a child, we preserve relevant information and report it to the appropriate regional or national law-enforcement authority or regulator. We cooperate with legitimate investigations into child sexual abuse and exploitation.
Designated child-safety contact
Kikin's designated point of contact for child-safety concerns, including CSAM and CSAE matters, is hello@kikin.app. If you have a child-safety concern about Kikin or anyone using it — including a report you could not make in the app — email hello@kikin.app. Include as much detail as you can, such as the username or a link to the content, what happened and when, so we can investigate promptly. Child-safety reports are treated as a priority.
If someone is in immediate danger
If you believe a child is in immediate or serious danger, contact your local emergency services first. Then report the concern to Kikin as well so we can act on our side.
Keeping this page up to date
We may update this page as our safety tools, processes and legal obligations change. Any material changes will be reflected here.
